An apple, for you, for me

It's Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada! Time for turkey and pumpkin pie in abundance and little pumpkins sitting on tabletops. Even amidst the constant rain, Autumn is much loved in BC. Burnt oranges, rich greens and ochre yellows fill each window pane. Every once in a while, the rain takes a break and we rejoice by spending time outside in this Autumn wonder. It's a beautiful time of year indeed!
Happy Thanksgiving friends!

Prom 2013

^^We made a rainbow^^ This past Monday was the night every Grade 12 awaits for in anticipation. Every stage of the day was wonderful, beginning at home in the morning, waking up with excitement rising up within. Then, trying to fill the day with productive things, but quickly realising that my excitement made it absolutely impossible to get anything done... One of my favourite parts of the day was arriving at my friend's home, seeing everyone beautifully dressed head to toe. It began to dawn on me during the night that it was the last time that my Grade would all be together, all moving on in the Fall to our individual paths. Although this is the end of a journey, it marks the beginning of a beautiful season in each of our lives, and I couldn't be more excited.

Twice

Usually I like to spread out my baking. Cookies one week, then possibly a loaf or cake the next. But! This past week I made chocolate chip cookies twice. TWICE. In the same week! That's monumental, folks. The first batch I made at home to satisfy a very deprived chocolate craving, and the next I made with a good friend over some tea. We didn't even go by a recipe! I know, living on the edge. Alas, I only had Greek food once. ;) If you haven't tried Greek pita wraps before, try one! And let me know when you go back again and again and again.

Something about floral

There's always been something about flowers that my eye just can't resist. Be it their sweet scent, vibrant colours, or the way they can instantly add life to any room, my heart will never cease to have a sweet spot for these beauties. So, of course, my love for flowers has made it's way into my wardrobe as well! I purchased this skirt last year in New York and have faithfully worn it ever since. I added a belt to cinch the waist, and a simple tee to create a more laid-back summer feel.

chunky knits

Happy December!! I can't believe that Christmas is just around the corner. Soon the house will smell like pine cones and Christmas treats, and the tree will be twinkling with lights. Tomorrow is our day for decorating, and I can't wait to start the baking! With my sweet tooth it's hard to believe that the baking hasn't begun yet, but believe me, when it does start, oh, it shall be glorious.

One thing I really love during the winter time are chunky knits. Scarves, sweaters, socks, and cozy little beanies are perfect for warming up during these cold winter months. Here are some knit beauties that I've discovered!
