Savour the moment

The week of the Anne of Green Gables performances has finally arrived! The months of rehearsals have finally come down to these four days. Last night we had a completely sold out audience! It was amazing, and after the show my face hurt from smiling so much. It's crept up on me so fast. It's hard to believe that in a few short days it will all be over! I was chatting to my mom about it, and she gave me these wise words...

"Don't let a few nervous feelings steal your joy, but savour each moment on that stage! Enjoy every single part of it, because soon it will be just a memory."

My dear friend Kendra! Every so often we go to Fort Langley to take photos and raid the quaint candy shoppe!... :)

Spring Feelings

It's that time of year again.
The sky changes colour from grey to bright blue, and blossoms spring up on once snow-covered trees. Bright colours rule the world of nature, and the warmth of Spring shines through. Spring is a hopeful season. It's a season of encouragement, life, and joy. Dreary days of wet, cold, winter are over, and the lavish days of April are a welcome change.
Still beautiful and fresh, this Spring 2012 is far different than any other season for me. As many of you may know, at the pinnacle of Springtime I'll be performing in a production of Anne of Green Gables. These Spring days not only bring new colours and scents, but also joys, experiences, memories.
This is my dear friend Hannah. She's a babe. Not to mention a complete natural in front of the camera. We both adore Spring and the beauty that comes with it. Also, we share a serious love for all things edible, particularly yummy things. :)
Springtime calls for artsy photography with it's spectacular lighting. We fully took advantage of it. :)
What do you love to do in the Spring time? Is taking pictures of as many cherry blossoms as possible on your list too? :)

Much love, Vivi

Polka dot nails: DIY

One of my favourite designs of all time are polka dots. Simple, yet classic and so much fun. In the past I've just used the nail polish brush to create the dots, but I recently discovered a much a easier and effective way to create wonderfully circular dots. All you have to do is stick a pin into the eraser of a pencil! That's all there is to it. Possibly the easiest DIY I have ever done!
Supplies needed: two different polishes {I chose red and white, but the possibilities are    endless!}
                                 : your DIY dotting tool

Step 1: Paint your nails in alternating colours. For one hand paint three white and two red, and on the other do the opposite!
Step 2: Take your dotting tool and begin to dot the opposite colour on each nail. To create smaller dots, use the side of the pin. For larger dots use the very front of the pin. I like to use all different sizes!

Once finished, seal your nails with a clear topcoat and marvel at the masterpiece in front of you. Happy dotting! :)
