Snippets of Christmas

Merry Christmas, beautiful people!
Yesterday we celebrated the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ. It's the day that we rejoice in the salvation we have in Him. It's the day we reflect on His mercies, grace, and the amazing lives that we have in Christ. It's the day that, no matter what the year has brought us, we are reminded of Christ and His peace that passes understanding. I hope that your Christmas was filled with so much love and peace.  You are SO loved!

Five Things to Love

1. Lunch with a sweet friend at the sweetest cafe. London fog latte for her and vanilla rooibos tea for me.
2. One of my favorite ways to paint water colors is onto cards. Giving a hand painted card to a friend is such a joy!
3. Chalkboard art in my room as a reminder of the true reason for the season
4. A snippet of our Christmas villages: the pet shop with the lighthouse in the background
5. Oana Befort's beautiful December calendar. I've been faithfully using each month's calendar as a desktop background for a year now! Go check it out- you'll be so happy you did.

Why, hello!

HI! Wow, it's been a while. This semester has been one of the fullest, most enriching times of my life. I have learnt so much that, at times, my brain felt as if it were going to explode. Thankfully, it didn't. In fact, my brain is at last taking a deep breath now that my last exam is in the past. I wanted to share a few tiny glimpses of the past few weeks. Here's what I have been up to..
Two scenes of my University campus: the left was taken from the library and the right was taken one very early morning while, um, walking to the library.. (Haha, I might spend a lot of my time in there).

It wouldn't be a complete update without showing you what I've been eating, now would it? ;) Smoothies and black bean brownies. Brain food, people.
Not pictured: copious amounts of notes, textbooks, and practice questions. Ahh, university.

Stay tuned for the beginnings of winter posts... :)

amidst the leaves and wind

“Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art.... It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things which give value to survival.” C.S Lewis

Thankful for friendship and autumn leaves and this beautiful, crisp and ever-full-of-blessings month of October.

Thanksgiving 2014

This weekend was full of multiple Thanksgiving meals (helloooo leftovers!) much family time, finishing a scarf, and preparing for a week of many midterms. I honestly love the material I'm learning (genetics and microbiology), so studying is more like a joy than anything else. I knoooow, nerdy. I am so thankful to be able to learn about creation and I'm astounded at the intricacy of it all. Here's to God's amazing creation! What are you thankful for in this season?

September //

Just before starting to write these words, I was deep in my Genetics note taking. Chromosomes, proteins and Mendel's laws filled my thoughts and finishing off the last sentence came with a breath of release. Hello second year of University! I went to the wrong classroom twice in these past two weeks. Silly mistakes aren't only for your first year... Haha! This semester I have loaded up with Biology classes, one Psychology, a new job, and new activities outside of school. It feels like, and is, a busy time! But how wonderful is it that there is always time for a mug of tea, sniff of freshly cut herbs, or slice of walnut banana loaf? Simple things, people, they turn loaded days into joys.

Much love, Vivi
