cupcakes and candles

These are the cupcakes that I made for my brother's 18th birthday! They are all french vanilla, with icing flavours of almond, lemon and mocha. These bad boys didn't last so long. Oh, you know, maybe two hours or so. :)

And who would have thought you can have your cupcake and latte, all together in one! This latte is made with a pump of Torani cupcake syrup! At first I didn't like the sound of liquid cupcake, but after one sip, I'm a firm believer. :)
Sprinkles and frothy foam!
A few sushi rolls from my brother's birthday lunch! Delicious California rolls and special tempura rolls. Note: the green avocado-like substance on the far left is in fact, NOT avocado. I repeat, NOT avocado. Don't be deceived by its welcoming appearance! A small piece of that devil mush will literally burn your tongue off. I warn you! Learn from my experience!
Cupcake syrup!
I adore the warm light of glowing candles, especially from these two lavender and vanilla scented ones!

Overall, we had a wonderful day celebrating my brother. Who proudly pointed out that turning 18 makes him an adult. Wes, my brother, an adult?!  Next thing I know he'll be playing bingo and knitting me some leg warmers! :)

Much love, Vivi
