18 inches later...

Yesterday I went to the hairdresser for the first time in years. And what a memorable trip it was! Reluctantly, my hairdresser snipped off my long ponytail, taking off 18 inches of hair. Now, that ponytail is resting in a Ziploc bag ready to be mailed to the Canadian Cancer Society. What I love is that all I had to do was let my hair do its thing, growing weed-like and unruly, and resulting in a huge blessing to another person's life. So why did I do it? I'm a beleiver in the little things. I beleive that a little bit of hair goes a long way to someone who needs it, and if God has blessed me with the ability to grow my hair crazy long, then I want to use it to bless others. Although I won't be able to see the final product, I know that my hair is going to someone who needs it a lot more than I do! Have you ever donated your hair to cancer before? I would love to hear about it.
Much love, Vivi

  1. My hair does not grow long enough to donate, unfortunately! Unless I want to shave my head...maybe someday:) BUT you did give me a little strength today! I've been putting off cutting my hair and giving myself that "new look" and now finally, it's time to get motivated! After all, I am still blessed to be able to grow it back. Wonderful and inspiring post, and you look great!

    1. I'm sure you would look stunning with short hair, Lindsay! It can be scary to cut so much off, but the change is actually so much fun! let me know if you end up doing it, I would love to see. :)

  6. That's wonderful, you did a great thing :) I've donated hair before (10 inches, about five years ago?) and once I cut my hair again I'll be doing the same thing ♥

  8. I love the cut, it is adorable! I was able to donate my hair about a year and a half ago, and was very happy that I did! Sadly my hair is very slow growing and does not grow out well so I don't know when the next time I will be able to donate any is. I am looking forward to a new cut this month though!
